2011 Ends with Record High Apps Downloads

A study conducted by Analytics firm Flurry shows Apps downloads hit record high in last week of December with 1.2 billion apps downloaded.

The US was responsible for nearly half of the downloads, followed by China and the UK.

Many users received new devices for Christmas and the discounted apps offers over the holiday period would explain the impressive results.

Flurry said in it’s blog that breaking the one billion download barrier per week will become more commonplace in 2012.

The firm estimated that nearly seven million Android devices and iPhones were activated on Christmas Day.

While the iPhone and Android growth continues to amaze, the market is still relatively nascent and we should see a lot more devices and apps such as several new games and perhaps casino games as well in the year to come.
